Lasara Elementary Shines!

November 27, 2007

Lasara Elementary has made the Texas Business & Education Coalition (TBEC)

Honor Roll for 2007. Of the more than 8,000 Texas public schools less than 5% will be so honored.  The TBEC Honor Roll is the most prestigious award for sustained, academic excellence in Texas. It recognizes schools that have demonstrated high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. TBEC Honor Roll schools have the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most rigorous standard-commended-in every subject. According to the TBEC award committee, "It is a great honor to be selected as a TBEC Honor Roll school because your school has achieved academic excellence year in and year out, displaying the energy, innovation, determination, and teamwork that motivates, challenges, and prepares students for the future."  Lasara Elementary earned a place on the Honor Roll through hard work and student achievement over an extended period of time.  TBEC recognized Lasara Elementary on Monday, October 22, 2007, at an Awards Reception and Dinner in Austin sponsored by HEB, Washington Mutual and IBM. Congratulations to all the Lasara Elementary students, teachers, and parents for the hard work that made this achievement possible!
