WOW! What a great start this year! Third, fourth and fifth grade math students are working hard. One of the main skills all three grade levels have been working on is multiplication. For our third grade, it is a time to learn the basic multiplication facts. They need to be practicing their facts everyday. For our fourth and fifth grade, it is a time to review the facts and apply them to other areas in math. In addition to multiplication, students have covered other math skills including place value (whole numbers and decimals), prime and composite numbers, addition, subtraction, division, money, median, range, and mode, rounding and estimation, patterns, and graphing. The students have certainly been busy. One of the main reasons our students at Lasara are successful is because of the continued support from home. With all of us working together, the students at Lasara will continue to make all of us proud. I feel very fortunate to work in such a wonderful place.
