Lasara ISD

On Monday, April 20, Lasara ISD hosted a meeting with Mr. Alberto Treviño III, Texas Workforce Commission-Commissioner representing labor, Mr. Frank Almaraz, CEO, Workforce Solutions, and members of his team, Texas Southmost College president, Dr. Jesús Roberto Rodriguez, along with members of his team, Mr. Paco Sanchez, president and CEO of RGV Partnership, Dr. Raul Alvarez, Region One ESC, Mrs. Sylvia Perez, Lasara ISD school board president, Ms. Alyssa Morton, CEO, Empower Schools, and several members of the Lasara ISD administration team. The meeting was held to discuss ways to improve workforce readiness opportunities for students across the state. We discussed strategies on how to better prepare students to succeed after graduation. We also talked about how we can engage employers and industry partners to provide work based opportunities to enhance our students’ understanding of the skills and education needed to thrive and succeed as they grow in the world of work.
