Regional Meet 2021
This year has been difficult for UIL. We began the year not knowing how we were going to attend the various meets. We waited and worked with our students trying to get them ready while we were working to learn new ways to teach and work in our primary positions. There were very few invitational meets, and they were virtual. Our coaches and students attended the District Meet which was held at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. We had only five students who were able to travel and all five advanced to the Regional Meet. These students are:
-
Juan Aguilar- 2nd in Number Sense
-
Selissa Gonzales- 1st in Lit Crit, 2nd in News Writing
-
Janelle Tamez- 2nd in Lit Crit
-
Victoria Velazquez- 3rd in Lit Crit, 1st in News Writing, 3rd in Prose
-
Madison Gonzales- Lit Crit Team
This meet was held at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. They all worked hard and did very well. We had our Literary Criticism team advance to the State competition. We also had Victoria Velazquez advance as an alternate in Prose and Selissa Gonzales advanced to the State competition in News Writing.
